Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, was voted into his position as he lambasted the billions of tax payer-funded dollars that were being thrown at Ukraine while our own southern border has been invaded by over 11 million unknown, foreign migrants.
As the US southern border continues to be open for invasion- the Republican Speaker pushed a bill on Saturday night that throws yet another 61 billion dollars of the US citizens’ hard-earned tax dollars into the sinkhole that is the Ukraine war.
While 112 Republicans voted against it, Speaker Johnson was able to convince 101 Republicans to join the Democrats and vote it through.
Lancaster county’s own representative, Congressman Lloyd Smucker, voted in favor of the 60 billion dollar foreign aid package to Ukraine.
In a phone-in town hall, Smucker told his constituents that unless we throw billions into Ukraine, American soldiers will need to be deployed and Putin’s madness will continue to roll into other European nations.
Which seems to be the new catch phrases and reasoning that sound hauntingly similar to “weapons of mass destruction” that was no doubt also crafted and coined by US intelligence Agencies.
Smucker was also asked about his position on renewing FISA, which grants US Intelligence Agencies broad surveillance powers and has been demonstrated to have been used as political assaults on US citizens and a former US President. Smucker is all in with FISA and stated that these broad surveillance powers are needed to keep Americans safe. He did also state that they are putting in measures to make sure the abuse isn’t repeated. Although, it has already been demonstrated that intelligence overstepped legal parameters and no one was held responsible.
I find it fascinating that the Intelligence Community is SO concerned about the safety of American citizens that they need the unfettered ability to spy on foreign hostiles, but seem quite disinterested about the hundreds of thousands of military-aged men strolling across our southern border.
Does that make any sense to anyone?
I think it has become glaringly evident that the US intelligence community is running the country and probably has been for decades.
Good men with honorable intentions seem to often go into DC wide-eyed and naive only to end up assimilating into “the Machine”.
What makes the coercion seem so seamless in so many cases? Is it bribery? Threats? Blackmail? Maybe the Intelligence Agencies just have such a compelling argument that mortal men cannot resist their persuasion?
Either way, congressmen usually just end up as salesmen for whatever the Intelligence Community needs them to sell. They return to their constituents with coined phrases and canned reasoning and it doesn’t really matter what the people of their district actually think. And why should it? When you go to vote on Tuesday, you will find that Lloyd Smucker is the only name on the Republican ballot. So we can all exercise our votes on Tuesday and enjoy the delusion of choice in Congress.
