Amid media reports of new COVID variants, President Joe Biden said he plans to ask Congress for funding to develop a new COVID vaccine.
While on vacation in the Lake Tahoe area last week, Biden told a reporter that he signed off on a “proposal we have to present to the Congress a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works.”
Biden added that the tentative plan is to recommend that “everybody get it, no matter whether they got it before or not.”
On August 18, NBC News reported that “[g]lobal disease experts were monitoring a new variant, BA.2.86, that carries a large number of mutations — meaning it looks significantly different from the original version of Omicron and the previously dominant strain targeted by upcoming Covid booster shots this fall.”
Dr. Joseph Mercola, founder of Mercola.com, recently wrote that the “fearmongering will ramp up again to drive people into the vaccination clinics” where they will be “pressured to get not just one but three different shots — a booster for COVID, a flu vaccine and a brand-new fast-tracked vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).”
“And, despite proof that masking is useless and lockdowns were a devastating mistake that should never be repeated, these failed strategies will likely be reimplemented as well,” Mercola wrote. “Our only hope, really, is mass disobedience, because those in charge are ignoring both science and the law.”
In September 2022, Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic “over.”
